Ethical Purchasing Policy

At Superior Linen, we are committed to upholding human rights and labor standards throughout our operations and supply chain. This policy aims to provide clarity to our employees, customers, suppliers, investors, and other stakeholders regarding our approach to respecting these principles. Our Ethical Purchasing Policy ensures that the goods and services we purchase are produced and delivered under conditions that prioritize the well-being of individuals and the environment.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is twofold: to promote good labor and environmental standards throughout our supply chain, thereby ensuring the provision of high-quality goods and services to our clients, and to safeguard the reputation of Superior Linen.

The following principles and guidelines form the foundation of this policy:

Safe Working Conditions

We have designated a senior manager responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with appropriate health and safety standards. Our staff receives the necessary training and equipment to maintain a safe working environment. We prioritize pleasant working conditions and hygiene, providing access to clean drinking water and suitable washing facilities. If housing is provided, it must meet the same health and safety standards as the workplace.

No Child Labor

We strictly prohibit the employment of children under the age of 15, as we believe they should have the opportunity for full-time education rather than needing to work for a living. Workers between the ages of 15 and 18 should not be employed in high-risk environments or work at night. If any instances of child labor are identified, immediate and appropriate remediation measures will be taken in collaboration with our suppliers, prioritizing the well-being and education of the child.

Freely Chosen Employment

We respect the right of employees to freedom of association, allowing them to join independent trade unions or workers' associations and have representative functions within the workplace in accordance with local laws. We ensure that our employees have the freedom to choose employment without any form of forced labor. In cases where local laws restrict freedom of association and collective bargaining, we strive to provide alternative democratic means of representation.

No Excessive Working Hours

Employee working hours must comply with national and international laws or industry standards. We provide clear and easily understood disciplinary, grievance, and appeal procedures that are lawful and appropriate. Disciplinary measures should not infringe upon employees' legal or contractual rights, and suppliers are required to keep records of all disciplinary actions.

Fair Wages

Wages and benefits provided by our suppliers must meet at least the minimum national legal standards. We ensure that wages are sufficient to meet basic needs and provide some discretionary income to employees.

Training and Development

We encourage the implementation of training and development programs to enhance the skills of workers in relation to their roles and responsibilities.

Non-Discrimination

We promote a workplace free from all forms of discrimination, including hiring, training, compensation, advancement, termination, or retirement, whether direct or indirect.

Workforce Diversity

We actively encourage diversity and good workforce practices within our organization and supply chain.

No Inhumane Treatment

Our suppliers are expected to prohibit physical or threatened abuse, coercion, sexual or other forms of harassment, verbal abuse, and any other forms of intimidation within the workplace.

By adhering to these principles and guidelines, Superior Linen ensures that our purchasing decisions align with ethical standards, contributing to a fair and sustainable supply chain. We remain committed to continuous improvement and accountability in promoting human rights and environmental responsibility.
